March Birthstone - Aquamarine
Aquamarine is the blue to greenish blue variety of the mineral beryl. Its name is derived from two Latin words: aqua, meaning “water,” and marina, meaning “of the sea.” It is believed to represent unity. This gemstone was also believed to protect sailors, as well as to guarantee a safe voyage. The serene blue or blue-green color of aquamarine is said to cool the temper, allowing the wearer to remain calm and levelheaded.

At this year's Oscars the Wonder Woman star wore a stunning piece from Tiffany and Co.'s Blue Book collection. Dubbed the "Blue Ice," the Art Deco–inspired necklace boasts 17 aquamarines totaling 61 carats and more than a thousand diamonds—950 round diamond melee stones and 85 custom-cut baguettes. The statement piece required three master jewelers, three setters, and four polishers to create.
